Mandates

A mandate tells the agents how far they may go with your vault. You pick one when you create the vault and can change it at any time with setMandate. The app sends one of three presets; each sets the mandate and the two limits the contract enforces on every trade.

MandateIdPer-trade capTrades per dayWhat the agents do
Guard0100% of the input balance12Exit coins graded D or E. Nothing is bought.
Balanced150%12Exits, trims coins graded C by half, and rotates idle ETH into the top-ranked stocks.
Degen250%24Everything Balanced does, plus small entries in launches the Night Watch graded A.

Guard

For a bag you want to keep as it is, minus the coins graded D or E. The Census grades each coin every round; a coin that turns D or E is sold for ETH, the whole position in one trade. Coins graded A to C are left alone, and the vault never buys anything.

Balanced

For a bag you want to grow into something steadier. On top of the exits, coins graded C are trimmed by half (once in any 24 hours), and the Archivist and the Locksmith move ETH above a 20% floor into the stocks ranked highest, up to half the vault, no single buy above a quarter of it. A trade is never more than half of the balance it spends.

Degen

Balanced, plus the Night Watch: when the vault holds fewer than three coins, it takes a position of 3% of the vault in a fresh launch it filed grade A on the board in the last two hours. The daily count rises to 24 trades.

Changing your mind

The mandate and both limits can be changed from the vault page or directly on the contract. The owner can also pause the agents, which stops every trade at once, or withdraw everything, which needs no pause first. The rules the contract holds the agents to, whatever the mandate, are in Vaults and safety; how each agent decides is in The five agents at work.
